2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enrolment enquiry or completing registration for a Lumencore programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not proceed with enrolment.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. By enrolling a Participant, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and have the authority to consent on their behalf.
3. Programme Descriptions
Lumencore currently offers three educational programmes:
- Money Basics for Teens — a six-week workshop programme for learners aged 13–17, priced at RM 580 per participant.
- Junior Money Curriculum — a school-term programme for learners aged 9–12, priced at RM 1,950 per participant.
- Family-and-Youth Annual Track — a twelve-month combined programme for households with school-age children, priced at RM 4,720 per household.
All programmes are delivered in-person at our Kuala Lumpur centre. Programme dates, session times, and group availability are confirmed at enrolment. Lumencore reserves the right to make minor adjustments to session content or scheduling where operationally necessary, with reasonable notice to enrolled families.
4. Enrolment and Registration
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full programme payment and a written confirmation from Lumencore. Placement in a programme cohort is subject to availability. If your preferred intake is full, we will offer an alternative date or a place on the waiting list.
5. Payment Terms
All fees are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Programme fees cover all sessions, printed materials, and any parent communications included in the programme description. There are no additional charges for materials during the programme period.
Payment is due in full prior to the commencement of the first session unless a written instalment arrangement has been agreed with Lumencore in advance.
5.1 Refund Policy
Withdrawal before the programme start date: a full refund less an administrative fee of RM 50 will be issued, provided written notice is received at least 7 calendar days before the first session.
Withdrawal after the programme has commenced: no refund will be issued for sessions already delivered. Where a Participant is unable to continue due to documented medical circumstances, Lumencore will consider partial credit on a case-by-case basis at its discretion.
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 14 business days of approval.
6. Participant Conduct and Responsibilities
Parents and guardians agree that:
- Participants will arrive on time and be collected promptly at the end of sessions.
- Participants will behave respectfully toward facilitators and other learners.
- Any medical, dietary, or accessibility needs relevant to attendance are disclosed prior to the programme start.
Lumencore reserves the right to exclude a Participant from sessions where their conduct poses a disruption or risk to others, with the Programme Director's assessment being final. In such cases, no refund will be issued for sessions remaining.
7. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, workbooks, session guides, parent summaries, and related content produced by Lumencore are protected under Malaysian copyright law and remain the intellectual property of Lumencore. Printed workbooks provided to Participants are for their personal use only.
Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, adapted, or used for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from Lumencore.
8. Programme-Specific Terms
8.1 Completion
Lumencore programmes are educational in nature and do not result in the award of a formal qualification or academic certificate. A programme completion acknowledgement may be issued to Participants who attend a majority of sessions, at Lumencore's discretion.
8.2 Parent Involvement
Where parent communication or involvement is part of the programme format, parents and guardians are expected to engage with the materials provided and to attend any parent sessions or debriefs included in the programme.
9. Disclaimers
Lumencore's programmes are educational and informational in nature. They are designed to support the development of foundational money literacy habits in young learners. Lumencore makes no representation that participation in any programme will produce specific learning outcomes, behavioural changes, or financial results for any Participant or household.
Programme content is not intended as professional financial, investment, or legal advice. Lumencore is an educational programme provider and not a licensed financial adviser.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lumencore's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with any programme shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for that programme.
Lumencore shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your participation in or reliance on any programme content.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under applicable Malaysian law.
11. Force Majeure
Lumencore shall not be in breach of these Terms or liable for delay or failure in performing obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure results from events outside Lumencore's reasonable control, including natural disasters, government directives, public health restrictions, or infrastructure failures. In such circumstances, Lumencore will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected sessions.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Lumencore harmless from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or from any act or omission of a Participant during programme sessions.
13. Termination
Lumencore may terminate an enrolment agreement with written notice if a Participant or parent/guardian materially breaches these Terms and the breach is not remedied within 7 days of written notice. Upon termination, any sessions not yet delivered will be refunded on a pro-rata basis unless the termination arises from the Participant's conduct.
You may withdraw from a programme at any time subject to the refund terms described in Section 5.1.
14. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so we can attempt an informal resolution. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute will be subject to the courts of Malaysia under Malaysian law, with Kuala Lumpur as the agreed jurisdiction.
15. General Provisions
These Terms, together with your enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lumencore in relation to the programme. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Lumencore's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated to enrolled families by email before taking effect. For new enrolments, the version of the Terms in effect at the time of enrolment will apply.
